Mini Lasagna with LOCK&LOCK

Nggak lama, timer-nya berbunyi dan tadaaaa... my mom's lasagna! Mamaku nih kalau masak kadang-kadang tidak mempedulikan estetika... tapi kalau makan masakannya (menurutku pastinya) bawaannya pengen nambah lagi, dan nggak berasa-berasa kenyangnya. Makanya nih, lasagnanya nggak fotogenik kan, hahaha.

Nggak fotogenik blas =)) Mana lasagnanya tinggal sisa dikit jadi nggak rapi layernya =))
Alat dan bahan:

❤ Lasagna
❤ Daging sapi cacah
❤ Tomat segar, dicacah.
❤ Pasta tomat kaleng
Keju Mczzarella
Keju Cheddar
❤ Bawang bombay
❤ Bawang putih
❤ Oregano
❤ Rosemary
❤ Minyak zaitun
❤ LOCK&LOCK Oven Glass

Takarannya? Sekira-kiranya! HAHAHA.

Caranya:

4. Siapkan LOCK&LOCK Oven Glass, lumuri minyak zaitun supaya tidak lengket.
5. Buat lapisan dengan lasagna, lalu olahan daging cacah, mozzarella, kemudian lasagna lagi, bebas mau bagaimana lapisannya. Yang paling atas, diberi parutan keju cheddar.
6. Masukkan dalam oven, panggang sekitar 45 menit.

Kenapa pakai LOCK&LOCK?

Cipika, Pasar Online Produk UKM Indonesia

My Saturday's Sweet Treats from Hummingbird

I visited Kuningan City, two Saturdays in a row! On the first Saturday, I went to Jala-Jala, Medan Chinese Restaurant on 3rd floor, which serves many delicious food. I tried their baked noodle and egg tarts, so nice. And today, I met my friend and knowing I had been so curious with Hummingbird, my friend suggested to have some cakes and drinks in Hummingbird.

Hummingbird has an unique interior. There are some giant birdcages, fake trees, and some wood lockers, which are for staff. The menu also has an unique design and colorful so the customers already happy and excited when seeing the menu, even before they haven't decided what they want to eat.

The staff lockers.

I ordered a slice of cake named Cherry Rum, just because I'm a big fan of maraschino cherry, and a drink called Macadamia Toffee. I'm happy because I didn't have to wait so long to enjoy my cake and drink!

1. Cherry Rum Cake

This cake is like black forest. There are many layers contains chocolate mousse, cream, chocolate cake, and cherry. The taste is just right. I could taste a slight of rum but it is not so strong. I love the taste of the cherry. But as for me, the slice portion is too big. I couldn't finish it. I thought my dessert belly had a large volume! (Yes, I also have a special belly for sweets! I bet you too!)

2. Macadamia Toffee

Top side look of Macadamia Toffee.

I never taste macadamia besides from ice cream or Australian macadamia bars. When I tasted this drink, I thought it doesn't taste like macadamia I've ever tasted before. It is more like peanut (or is it me who don't know the real taste of macadamia). Not that I'm complaining, actually it turned out good. The sweetness is fit for my tastebud. I like it.

For the taste, I don't have any disappointments. Though I think eating 'heavy' cake and drink an ice blended beverage is not a nice combination. I think I better order some 'light drink' like tea-based drink to accompany my Cherry Rum Cake.

Overall, I love my dining experience in Hummingbird. I don't have any complaints, the service is quick, and the staff very friendly. Ambience is very nice, so cozy, and comfy (even I didn't sit in sofa). My friend and I were chit-chatting there for about three hours, so betah! The price is so-so, not so pricey though I can't call it cheap. Definitely visit Hummingbird again, soon.

Marugame Udon の 8th Branch in Jakarta!

Congratulations, おめでとうございます, for Marugame Udon which opened their new 8th store at Grand Indonesia! Marugame Udon has been ready to serve Jakartans since October 15th 2014.

Marugame Udon & Tempura is udon restaurant chain franchised originally from Marugame Seimen by Toridoll Corporation, a restaurant business company headquartered in Kobe, Japan. In Indonesia, Marugame Udon was first opened in February 14th 2013. Besides udon, Marugame Udon also sells tempura and rice. They implement open kitchen concept, freshly cooked, and self-service. We can see how the process in making udon and what all staffs are doing in the kitchen. Freshly cooked means… do you know, that tempuras which they serve, will be throw away if in 2 minutes there’s no one buy it? They keep the freshness of their food.

Name of the udon in Japanese kana and kanji.

It’s been only more than one year but Marugame Udon already grown with their eight branches, and still, the number of their stores keeps rising. In near future, they will open in Bali, Balikpapan, Bandung, Medan, and also 2nd outlet in Surabaya.

Want to choose what?
Can see inside the kitchen.
In each restaurant, Marugame Udon has two ‘doors’. One door is for queuing to get and buy the udon and one other door for exit. So the flow is well-ordered. Once we get the entrance, we take tray and choose which udon we want to eat. Or, if you prefer rice, they also have some rice choice. After we get the udon, we’ll meet the tempura station. Tempura varies from shrimp, sweet potato, beef croquette, to chilli tempura. The tempura are available in 10 variants.

Then we go toward the cashier and order drink and pay afterward. They also has condiment station which we can get the chopsticks, spoon, straw, refill ocha, and condiments like chilli, sesame, ginger, and tempura crunch.

My Tori Baitang Udon...
Also the udon's friends: tempura.
There are 8 kinds of udon, 10 kinds of tempura, and 4 rice menus, available to order in Marugame Udon. In Community Meet Up at Marugame Udon Grand Indonesia, I chose Tori Baitang Udon, udon with white broth soup and chicken meatball. For the tempura, I chose Skewered Tofu Roll, Broccoli Tempura, and Tori Tempura. Very superlove the Tori Baitang Udon and for the tempura I love most the Skewered Tofu Roll! And I really curious with the Zaru Udon, cold udon served with bukake dashi soup, and Kamaage Udon, the hot version of Zaru Udon. Because they look ‘more Japanese’ than the other, hehehe. Next time visit I’ll absolutely order one of them!

Zaru Udon. Wondering what does zaru means, because saru means monkey in Japanese and sometimes become zaru in compound words, hehehe.
One of the rice Marugame Udon's serving...
You can see all menu in this website:
http://www.marugameudon.co.id/menu/
All menu so attractive right?

The price is also just right, not too expensive. For the udon and rice starting from IDR33K-50K. Kamaage udon family package IDR85K, and for the tempura starting from IDR7K-14K per piece.

Ahhh writing this post make me want to go to Marugame Udon! And I'm so happy because in distance only 2kms from my house, there is Kota Kasablanka where there is also located Marugame Udon store, hihihi ^^

Best Panna Cotta In Town!

Only after I was disappointed with one of the semi fine dining restaurants in Jakarta's panna cotta, my friend told me about Pannacotta Etc. Her mom bought her six cup of panna cotta for Rp 176.000. Expensive. But then she said they were really good. I couldn't underestimated her taste buds since she's good at cooking. And eating. My friend informed me about its location and I was like, oh I knew that. In Pacific Place, near Starbucks and Bibigo. Anw, I routinely go to Pacific Place twice a week.

So, I went there by myself after my Korean class. The place is nice with white-painted exposed-bricks and woody chairs and table. I love the interior. I headed to 'Order Here' and confused with what I wanted to order. All seems attracting to taste. Here is the menu of its panna cotta:

❤ The Addiction Begins Here - Classic Panna Cotta with Baileys
❤ Going Bananas for Banana - Banana Panna Cotta with Hazelnut Choco
❤ The Infatuation Begins Here - Classic Panna Cotta with Butterscotch
❤ The Sensation Begins Here - Cheese Panna Cotta with Raspberry Sauce
❤ The Obsession Begins Here - Espresso Panna Cotta de creme
❤ The Confessions Begins Here - Double Chocolate Panna Cotta
❤ The Pleasure Begins Here - Mint Panna Cotta with Dark Chocolate
❤ The Delight Begins Here - Tiramisu Panna Cotta with Coffee Sauce

All seducing huh? So I asked the best selling one and the cashier girl answered the baileys, butterscotch, and the raspberry sauce. If the price were only Rp 10.000 per cup I would buy all the kinds of them. But one small cup is Rp 30.000, so I just bought one. And I chose butterscotch one, The Infatuation Begins Here! Woohoo... I orso bought Iced Hazelnut Latte.

Served on wood cutting board. Nice.

Do not share for 100% addiction. How can I share when I went there by myself and the panna cotta is very small, wkwkwk.

Let me open the cover, I want to look the panna cotta >,<

Taadaaa... so then I poured the butterscotch into the pannacotta. I spooned a little and tasted... Hummm... yeah like my friend told me, it is very delicious and tasty. The butterscotch flavor reminds me of chocolate bar but I didn't remember what brand it was. Since it is very small, I ate it slowly and enjoyably. Unfortunately, I didn't buy one more coz of lack of cash, hahaha. Maybe next time I will buy baileys or others. And take my mom.

The hazelnut latte orso nice...

If you want to give it try, I give the address and social media link below... ^^

Daebak Fan Cafe

A few days ago, my friends, Putty and Tika, and I went to Daebak Fan Cafe. It is first cafe in Indonesia which brings Korean Fan Cafe concept. Owned by four Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Indonesia students, Daebak is located in Jalan Margonda Raya Depok, not so far from our campus.

Daebak 대박  is an expression for saying 'awesome' or 'great'. There is a story behind the logo of Daebak. The logo is called Daebak Typhoon, shaped like swirling wind. Red, blue, and yellow colors mean harmony and cheerfulness. Also if you can see the detail there is Mega Mendung pattern, they want to give Indonesia touch also.

Ban Ki Moon! Hwaiting!

The first floor of Daebak is only for kitchen, so we have to go to upstairs. The walkway is narrow either the stair. The second flour is the area for dining. We sat in the near of the window. There are many posters and pictures of Korean celebrity. CN-Blue, IU, Shinee, and so on. For me and Tika, we're not interested in Korean boyband and stuffs. But Putty who is, she knows all the celebrity that the pictures hung on the wall.

Also in the wall, there are so many colored Post-It that written by the guests. We wanted to write message too and stick it on the wall but the cashier said the Post-It was out of stock >,<

For the menu we ordered Ramyeon, Sundubu Jjigae, Omurice, Kimchi Jeon, and Tteokpokki. Here they are:

1. Kimchi Jeon
Spicy kimchi with vegetable pancake and soy sauce. Rp 18.181
I like this and it is not expensive compared to pajeon sold in other Korean restaurants.

2. Omurice
Fried rice with beef a la Rooftop Prince drama with omelette and tomato sauce on top of it. Rp 28.181
I like it plus it is not spicy. My favorite of all we ordered.

3. Ramyeon
Korean spicy noodle. Rp 30.000.
So-so, for me it is more like Indomie but very spicy.

4. Sundubu Jjigae
Spicy tofu soup with beef slice and beef broth. Rp 34.545.
My tongue couldn't tolerate with its spiciness.

 5. Tteokpokki
The famous Korean spicy rice cake. Served with odeng and egg. Rp 29.090
First time I saw tteokpokki with boiled egg garnish. Not bad lah ^^

Our drinks!

Apple Iced Tea and Pear Iced Tea
Daebak specialty of signature Korean Tea, made by real fruit jam imported from Korea. Rp 16.363

Fandom Punch
Daebak has drink menu called Fandom Punch. It is named with celebrity and boy/girlbands name. Rp 13.636
Minty Forest - Lee Seung Gi
Peach Pandora - Kara

Overall:
I'm very impressed with the owners because they're still young but already owned a nice restaurant. Though I'm not a Korea fan but I feel the 'fan' atmosphere there. Don't expect the it is REAL Korean Restaurant, as they don't serve many free side dishes and free refill drink. But the prices are affordable and I'm sure all Indonesian young Korea fans would love Daebak Fan Cafe.

My Eggplant Lasagna!

One week ago, I had a rare feeling. I felt I wanted to cook. By the way, I never cook except I'm alone in my house when my house assistant go to her home town. Cooking never been my hobby and I always declare I can't cook. In fact is just I never tried to cook. Sooo, a week ago, I wanted to cook but didn't know what to cook. Then the idea came up, I wanted to cook Eggplant Lasagna!

I remembered I went to a restaurant in Prawirotaman Jogjakarta named Aglioo! I tried Eggplant Parmigiana there and it was very good. I thought it would be easy to make, so I decided to imitate. But in supermarket I visited, I found Parmesan is very expensive so I just use Mozzarella. So below the list what I used in making Eggplant Lasagna.

❤ Olive oil
❤ Onion, chopped.
❤ Garlic, chopped.
❤ Tomato Paste
❤ Oregano
❤ Salt
❤ 2 Eggplant, sliced.
❤ 200 gr of Mozzarella, thinly sliced or grated.
❤ Cheddar, grated.
❤ Lasagna

This is what I did:
1. Heat the frying pan, put the olive oil, onion, garlic, and tomato paste.
2. Put small amount of oregano.
3. Slice the eggplant.
4. Prepare the glass baking dish. Stack the tomato paste layer, lasagna, eggplant, mozzarella, another layers of them, and grated mozzarella and cheddar for the top.

Before the lasagna went to the oven!
5. Bake for 45 minutes.
6. Voila!

When I stacked into layers, my mom went to kitchen and asked me, "Have you put the salt into the tomato paste?"
"AAAA FORGOT!"

Then my mom put some salt to the remaining tomato paste but unfortunately I already put most of tomato sauce into the baking dish. After the lasagna done, I tasted and yes I should not forgot the salt but I think for inexperienced in cooking like me, it was not bad. I should use more of tomato paste so the top lasagna wouldn't be dry on the corner. And it would be tastier if I added more mozzarella. If I make Eggplant Lasagna again, maybe I'll add Béchamel sauce.

After I made this, I thought wow so cooking is not as difficult as I thought before. I managed to cook ginger steamed chicken and sauteed bok choi (Chinese cabbage) three days ago and it turned out to be good. Unfortunately, I didn't take good pictures of them. I'm proud of my self, hahaha... Though I still not good in cutting garlic and peeling ginger. Hmmm, what should I cook next? ^^

Ottugi Cheese Bokki

After my Korean lesson last wednesday, I decided to visit one of Korean supermarkets in town. It is Mu Gung Hwa, located in Jalan Senayan, Blok S, Kebayoran, Jakarta Selatan. I wanted to shop some Korean food or snacks because I wanted to try something new. I bought three bottles of juice, two packs of instant udon (우동) and one cup of Ottugi Cheese Bokki. The last one I mentioned is what I want to review in this post.

The packaging is small yellow cup and the price not so expensive, 12K IDR. It reminded me to tteokbokki, Korean snack which is spicy rice cake. The picture in the packaging made me think that Cheese Bokki is kind like macaroni-like but not made from rice flour like tteokpokki. Then we should add the cheese powder or somewhat. But, after I opened, it was not like my imagination. Wait, I'll show you the appearance of the Cheese Bokki! Ta-daaa!

Steps how to prepare cheese bokki.

OK. So, cheese bokki is kind of instant cup noodle with cheese flavour. I expected similar like tteokbokki only in cheese flavour. Or is it just me who didn't read the Bahasa Indonesia extra label...

I was curious with the meaning of bokki. I googled it and I found that bokki is cute alternative word of bokkeum, means stir-fry. So tteokpokki means stir-fried rice cake. And cheese bokki means 'stir-fried' cheese. Ok, I understand now, hahaha...

Preparing cheese bokki is very easy, it is like how to prepare Mi Goreng in form of instant cup noodle.

So, first is put hot water into the cup.

Second, close the lid and wait for four minutes.

Drain the water and put the cheese powder, then stir it well.

If you Indonesian, I think you all know Anak Mas, dried noodle snack with many kinds of flavours. Cheese bokki taste very similar with Anak Mas Keju (cheese). It is very cheesy and salty. Sorry, but I don't like it. I mean YES,  I can eat Cheese Bokki but better I eat Indomie Mi Goreng lah. >,<
